Photos from the first twelve rice bowls from Elizabeth Priddy's project.
The first two bowls. Note that they do not flare as much as later ones.
Bowls 8 through 12 showing some consistency. This is not an easy project, but its a helluva good exercise.
The profile of one of the later bowls. Its not 45 degrees but its three times the short side of the rib in diameter. In the second dozen I'll try for more, but I'll need more clay at the rim than I've so far been getting.
Alas, poor number 13. Actually he was number 3 or 4 I think, but I had 25 balls to start with. 12 made it through so far. After a break I'll try the remaining 12.

Four ready to go, showing the foot. I tried two variations on this foot ring with differing angles for the flat shoulder section. They do not differ much but a little. The profile shot below gives a better look at foot.
